It’s hard to imagine that anyone reading this is still regularly watching Netflix on a Wii U or a 3DS (which is probably why service is being ended), but consider this your last warning if you do. Thank you to everyone who enjoyed Netflix on these platforms over the years. Service for existing users will continue until June 30th, 2021. During that time, it will be possible for existing users to re-download these applications. Starting Dec 31st, 2020, the Netflix app will no longer be available for new users to download from Nintendo eShop on the Wii U console or Nintendo 3DS family of systems. Here’s the statement from Nintendo as it appears on the company’s website: Additionally, service will end for both apps on June 30th, at which point you won’t be able to use Netflix on either device. If you hadn’t downloaded the app before that date, you can’t get it on either the Wii U or the 3DS going forward. That’s $23 monthly but if you buy a yearly Live subscription you can push the costs lower.Some time ago, Nintendo added a notification to the page for Netflix on the Wii U announcing that the app would no longer be available to download as of December 31st, 2020. The costs are $8 for the Netflix account, $9 for a one month Xbox Live and $5 for the USVideo.ca service.
While this guide is for Xbox, you can find many guides for different devices on USVideo.ca. That’s it! Now you should be able to stream movies on your console. Type in the activation code into the proper place on your Netflix account page.On your Xbox select Netflix and select “I have a Netflix account”.On your computer go to your Netflix account and select active Netflix ready device.
Turn on the Xbox again and sign in with your U.S.Select done as many times you have to and shut down your console.Set the primary and secondary DNS to the values provided by USVideo.ca.Select your wired or wireless connection and select Configure Network.
I will walk you through the console version. Make sure you can log in to your Netflix account by configuring your network to use the DNS (you can see all the guides you will need here). You can choose to set up your router to use the DNS or your console only. To get a Netflix subscription follow this guide. A monthly subscription to their DNS service costs $5. USVideo.ca is a great service originally made for Canadians to gain access to Netflix and other US restricted services.
